The 66th edition of National Garment Fair organised by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) with the aim to generate the advancement of the large-scale domestic Garment Industry across the World began in Mumbai. The NGF offer various business opportunities and is expected to be a huge success.

The B2B fair is exhibiting over 400 brands at the two-day exhibition. The products exhibited, manufactured domestically display the strength of the Domestic apparel brands. It is an opportunity for the visitors to meet retailers and manufacturers of menswear, womenswear, kidswear, ethnic wear and accessories, at one platform.

The Apex Awards instituted by CMAI will be held in the evening today. It is one of the premier awards of the Indian apparel industry, where the outstanding performers of the year are recognized in the apparel manufacturing, marketing, supply chain management, export, retail, and also acknowledges significant contributions to the industry from allied industries.

This year, lifetime achievement award will be bestowed upon Sanjay Lalbhai, chairman – Arvind Brands, for his invaluable and outstanding contribution to the growth of the apparel industry in India.

Rahul Mehta, president, CMAI said that several of the amendments brought about by the GST Council were steps in the right directions and the textile & clothing industry has seen a fair amount of relief – especially in the procedures. A lot more still needs to be done and CMAI is continuing its active interaction with the government and the GST Council to address these issues.

National Garment Fair will run on January 29-30, 2017, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, NSE Complex, Goregaon (East), Mumbai.
