A memorandum of understanding was signed between Taiwan and France on June 12 in Paris, paving way for wider textile-related cooperation between the two nations. Under the agreement, both sides have agreed to boost bilateral personnel exchanges to promote joint marketing, production, R&D and technology transfer. The MoU was signed between Taiwan Textile Research Institute and UP-TEX.
The signing of the MoU was part of the annual bilateral Industrial Cooperation Consultation Meeting organized by the Industrial Development Bureau under the ROC Ministry of Economic Affairs and its French counterpart the Directorate-General of Competitiveness, Industry and Services of France.
IDB Director-General Wu Ming-ji and DGCIS Director-General Pascal Faure hosted the one-day event which covered a wide range of area spanning across aviation, biotechnology, design, energy, electric vehicles and information communications technology. Representatives from both countries brought each other up to speed on respective developments of their energy, electric vehicle, health care and ICT sectors, as well as proposed new ways of future collaboration.
