Modern Meadow, a purpose-driven biotechnology company, has announced a co-development partnership with Singtex, a leading global provider of environmentally friendly functional fabrics, for the development of chemical-free, sustainably manufactured outdoor clothing.

Starting with a high-performance, waterproof membrane-based material for outdoor garments that are produced sustainably, the two businesses will create new and cutting-edge biomaterials for a variety of uses.

By combining performance and sustainability through a range of product innovations, beginning with this new material, the partnership will address the unmet needs of the outdoor apparel industry. It will be powered by Bio-Alloy™, Modern Meadow's proprietary protein-based technology, and SINGTEX's expertise as a leading global manufacturer of eco-friendly and functional textiles.

The bio-derived membrane-based material is engineered to bring the outdoor industry a sustainable solution at a scale that protects human health and the environment while delivering superior product performance through waterproofing, breathability, abrasion, and durability. It is free of solvents, like dimethylformamide (DMF), and free of per- or poly-fluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS).
