Mazroui tours carpet expo with rare and fine carpet on display

Arab Carpet Expo along with the incorporated Arab Flooring Expo, Yarn and Fiber Expo and the International Green Carpet and Flooring Conference is being staged at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, in the symbolic city of Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Organisers said that Abu Dhabi is the symbolic and chosen city for these events due to the presence of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque which owns the world’s largest hand-made carpet and has truly world-class flooring.

Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy, accompanied by Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri and Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) toured carpet expo and expressed admiration at the rare and fine carpets on display.

This unique carpet, made especially for Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque by around 1,300 Iranian carpet knotters, measures 5,627 m2 (60,570 sq ft). Its weight is 35 tonnes, has approximately 2.27 Billion knots and took approximately two years to complete.

Arab Carpet Expo and its incorporated Events aim to make Abu Dhabi the hub of Carpet and Flooring in the MENA region by providing a platform for the world’s very best to showcase their products, services, technologies and innovations every year starting with its first edition in 2015.

No other event in the region provides a platform such as this for exhibitors, sponsors, visitors, delegates and all other interested individuals and parties to participate in a set of events that focus specifically and only on carpet and flooring and to take advantage of the abundant economic, social, educational and environmental opportunities that exist locally and regionally in this space.

Arab Carpet Expo focuses specifically on hand and machine-made carpets and rugs, standard industrial, commercial and residential carpet and any other carpet floor covering, as well as their manufacture, carpet design, laying, cleaning and application technologies and peripheral sales, marketing and services.

Arab Flooring Expo is focused on all other types of floor coverings including but not limited to marble, natural stone, ceramic, wood, vinyl, parquet and laminate. In addition, all technologies, machinery, applications, sales, marketing, services and innovations in relation to the flooring industry are included.

Yarn and Fiber Expo focuses purely on the Yarn, Fiber and related Raw Materials, Technologies and Innovations in this part of the industry. This special focus is important because it provides an opportunity for raw material providers to make direct contact with producers and retailers in order to establish stronger relationships and collaborations, ultimately providing a better service to the trade and consumer markets.

Finally, the International Green Carpet and Flooring Conference which is running alongside these specialised Exhibitions to introduce and discuss the highly important topic of Carpet Recycling and Sustainable Flooring to a region of the world which has a huge demand for and supply of Carpet and Flooring mainly due to the presence of the significant Construction industry.

The International Green Carpet and Flooring Conference 2015 has invited the international leaders in Carpet Recycling and Sustainable Flooring to educate and promote excellence in international Carpet Recycling and Flooring Sustainability processes, practices, facilities, innovations and technologies and encourage Green Carpet and Flooring development in the MENA region for many years to come.
