Made in Pakistan Expo to be held in Mumbai get incredible response

Made in Pakistan Expo 2014 to be held in Mumbai, India from April 3-7, 2014 for which the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) has received incredible response from the exhibitors and majority of the stalls have been booked. The Chairman PRGMEA, Arshad Aziz while addressing a press conference yesterday said that Made In Pakistan Expo held in order to promote Pakistan’s garments and clothing in the neighbouring country has been duly endorsed by the ministry of commerce and ministry of textile industry.

He further said that if all goes well and the PRGMEA event held in a big way, the event might fetch at least $100 million export orders. Pakistani garments especially ladies wear and law are in great demand in India and the long term business deals among the two countries will flourish the bilateral trade and Pakistan’s value-added sector could be given big boost.

PRGMEA has arranged B2C and B2B meetings between the Pakistani exhibitors and manufacturer with Indian buyers and trade delegation would also visit India on the occasion, so that Pakistan exhibitors could avail maximum benefit from the event. He said that beside readymade garments, fashion clothing, and home textiles, handicrafts, marble items, food items and other goods would also be displayed in the event. He said that there is some problem being faced in obtaining Indian visa but majority of the exhibitors is getting visa.

The PRGMEA has asked the Indian government to reduce duty tariff on Pakistan’s garments and remove non-tariff barriers in general imposed by Indian government on Pakistan’s exports.

Former Chairman PRGMEA, Ejaz Khokhar, Shaikh M Shafiq and joint organizer Evecon’s Director Mir Nasir Abbas were also present on the occasion.
