Lycra to focus on its EcoMade product line this year

The Lycra company is moving ahead with the motive of making our planet healthy to have a sustainable healthy business. They are focused on developing fabric technologies for sustainable fashion. The Lyca company is working on recycled products, increasing transparency and enhancing durability.

Julien Born, chief commercial officer at The Lycra Company expresses the company’s objective to reduce carbon footprint by working on low-impact processes and products. Lycra EcoMade fiber which is minorly made from pre-consumer waste was launched in late 2019. They are working on new Lycra EcoMade GRS certified products in their plant in Monterrey, Mexico. They are focusing on converting CoolMax and Thermolite fibers to EcoMade recycled versions by the end of 2021. The Lycra company also realizes the importance of becoming transparent in recent times, it has been awarded last month with the Gold Level Material Health Certificates by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. The certification provides the customers with assurance about their safe ingredients and suppliers; reinforcing their commitment to green chemistry.

They have also received certification for their new seam slippage free Anti- Slip fiber. Lycra Anti-Slip fiber is thought to be an effective alternative for the polyester or rayon blends used in denim, as it would help prevent seam slippage and improve garment quality and appearance. Another innovative fabric is the Lycra dualFX technology, it is used for denim to help them retain their shape throughout the day as well as it is long-lasting, more durable and it will give the garment a longer life cycle.
