LVMH’s Nona Source inaugurates its first UK showroom

Nona Source, the established luxury fabric resale platform that re-values deadstock textiles and leathers from LVMH Fashion and Leather Goods Maisons, has inaugurated its first UK store in London at The Mills Fabrica.

The company was founded last year to help the creative community by selling leftover materials from LVMH fashion and leather goods brands at up to 70% off the original wholesale price.

Nona Source previously only had a storefront in Paris, but beginning May 11, the London facility will allow UK fashion and design creatives to incorporate sustainable and circular fashion principles into their designs by employing high-quality deadstock materials. Beginning Monday, creative professionals will be able to schedule a private consultation with a Nona Source specialist.

Romain Brabo, co-founder of Nona Source, said that he is really delighted that on their first anniversary, they are launching a London showroom in one of the most creative areas in the world. It represents a significant advancement in Nona Sources’ dedication to developing circular innovation and creative reuse, as well as helping new and rising designers, artists, and businesses.

Brabo, an expert in materials purchasing and manufacturing at LVMH-owned Givenchy and Kenzo, first identified high-quality textiles kept in couture companies’ warehouses in 2017, and recognized an opportunity to repurpose the deadstock. He collaborated with LVMH employees Anne Prieur Du Perray and Marie Falguera to establish the Nona Source resale platform through Dare, LVMH’s “intrapreneurship” initiative, an incubator for innovative ventures to translate ideas into tangible solutions.

The service is already being used by UK designers such as Richard Malone, Bianca Saunders, and Stella McCartney, who describe Nona Source as a “ground-breaking circular platform that will revolutionize the fashion business” and adds that her company already utilizes it.

McCartney said that it’s no secret that the fashion industry has a tremendous waste problem; today, less than 1% of the material used to manufacture apparel gets recycled into new fabrics. This is where Nona Source comes in, taking magnificent deadstock textiles from the world’s finest fashion maisons under the LVMH umbrella and delivering them at cheap costs – making them available to all companies, new and old.

The store is in Kings Cross, London, inside The Mills Fabrica, a location supported by Hong Kong-based Nan Fung Group to foster regenerative solutions and sustainable technologies in fashion and agri-tech.

Nikita Jayasuria, general manager of The Mills Fabrica, said that they’re happy to be collaborating with Nona Source on the debut of their first official flagship store here in the UK at The Mills Fabrica. Nona Source’s profound purpose not only firmly matches with their in terms of sustainability, but they are also pioneering a new type of fashion that places circular and zero-waste principles at the heart of luxury and cutting-edge design. They at The Mills Fabrica are thrilled to be able to assist Nona Source on their journey and welcome them to their community.
