Longchamp unveils circular handbags leftover stock

French accessories maker, Longchamp, is reusing end-of-roll and leftover stock to produce new handbags.

The luxury bag retailer is repurposing canvas fabric from its archives to create Le Pliage Re-Play, a new design available in three sizes.

The brightly colored forms are available as a vertical tote, a tiny shoulder bag, and a belt bag, each with two distinct colors of end-of-roll nylon canvas and a third color of Russian leather trim.

The collection is restricted in quantity since once the canvas and leather inventories are depleted, these bags cannot be reproduced.

The following commercial depicts two models removing the remaining lengths of canvas from their white cardboard rolls, which morph into stick figures and begin dancing.

Longchamp claims that by working to the end of the roll, the designs are consistent with the company’s continued commitment to lowering its carbon footprint.
