LFW 2017 showcases international creative potential of Baltic designers

The London Fashion Week Festival is a show about creativity, innovation, business talks, styling and shopping. This year’s London Fashion Week (LFW) Autumn/Winter 2017 comprised of designers from many nations, and featured two creative entrepreneurs originating from the Baltic States that showcased the international creative potential of Baltic designers.

The Latvian designer Fyodor Podgorny, co-founder of the Fyodor Golan label, unveiled their unprecedented vibrant collection inspired by shapes and colours of iconic Post-it Notes, and Power-Puff Girls; while the Estonian Womens wear designer, Roberta Einer’s ebullient presentation displayed pure luxury.

Caroline Rush CBE, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council said that they understand from their research, that fashion has better engagement than football. It is not surprising, as they have shows every 30 minutes during London Fashion Week, they have their street style obsession that outplays any other event, plus opinions and content views from all over the world. From next season, it will grow to a city-wide celebration of the fashion industry.

Linard August, a London-based Latvian designer, whose label Linard August aims to present its first collection at London Fashion Week in the near future said that the fashion industry in the United Kingdom directly contributed 28 billion pounds to the UK economy (GDP) in 2016. London Fashion Week can launch the international careers of fashion designers and labels, and putting a spotlight on creative designers and businesses through fashion events like London Fashion Week is extremely important and essential for the industry.
