The pandemic has fostered two trends: upcycled denim and patchwork, both of these styles are displayed in Levi’s and New Balance‘s latest collaboration.
The two American companies collaborated on a three-piece collection focused on vintage materials and classic silhouettes. The collection, which includes an updated New Balance 992 sneaker as well as Levi’s 501 jean and Trucker jacket, blends past and present for a limited-edition collection that blue blood and sneakerheads won’t want to miss. No two parts of any item are the same because of their upcycled nature.
The denim shoe includes patchwork suede and real grey Levi’s Authorized Vintage denim as a homage to the footwear brand’s iconic colorway, a trend that seems to never go out of style.
The 992 design was initially introduced in 2006 to commemorate New Balance’s 100th anniversary, and it’s back with a co-branded N logo and a graphic collection print from the historical “Levi’s for feet” collection. Even the packaging boasts unique details, which includes a limited-edition natural colored box with a red top and co-branded tissue paper on the interior.
The collection’s denim items were treated with the same level, with three distinct gray washes of real vintage Levi’s denim and a limited-edition hangtag with co-branded graphics on both jeans and jackets.
The collection solidifies the longstanding connection between the two companies, which have previously worked on both apparel and footwear. The LAV x New Balance collaboration will be available on the Levi’s App and NB.com on August 6th, with prices ranging from $250 to $400.
