The Lenzing Group, a leading supplier of regenerated cellulose fibers, has achieved a major milestone in sustainable innovation through its collaboration with C.P.L. Prodotti Chimici srl and Oniverse, the parent company of the fashion brand Calzedonia. At the heart of this partnership is LENZING Acetic Acid Biobased, a by-product of Lenzing's biorefinery pulp production process, which will now be utilized by Oniverse for textile dyeing, in addition to Lenzing's fibers.

This alliance underscores the trust the industry places in our biorefinery products.”

Marco Lanzetti, owner of C.P.L. Prodotti Chimici srl, highlighted the partnership's history since the 1990s, emphasizing the blend of quality and sustainability in this latest collaboration. “As the first licensee of LENZING Acetic Acid Biobased, we are proud to promote Lenzing’s brand to our textile customers, including Oniverse, helping to reduce carbon footprints and achieve sustainability goals,” Lanzetti added.

Federico Fraboni, Head of Sustainability at Oniverse, praised the initiative as a model for circular economy collaboration. “This partnership optimizes waste and reduces environmental impact, showcasing the power of integrated supply chains.”

The biorefinery process at Lenzing utilizes renewable wood resources to produce pulp, fiber, and valuable by-products such as bio-based acetic acid. LENZING Acetic Acid Biobased boasts a carbon footprint over 85% lower than fossil-based alternatives and is versatile across industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and textiles, where it supports processes like washing, dyeing, and finishing.
