According to Lenzing, sales of their Tencel Luxe specialized lyocell filament yarn increased fivefold in 2021, and the firm is presently increasing its manufacturing capacity by 25% to meet rising demand.
The luxury market is growing at a rate of 6-8% each year, and companies in this area are turning to Tencel Luxe as a highly adaptable and sustainable next-generation solution.
Vineet Singhal, vice president of noble fibers at Lenzing AG, said that they’re seeing a huge change toward sustainability in the luxury and premium business, which is being pushed mostly by the younger generation. As a consequence of increased customer demand, the Tencel Luxe brand intends to extend its presence even further in the haute couture, bridalwear, ready-to-wear, denim, sportswear, traditional wear, intimate, and red-carpet fashion categories. With the assistance of their loyal partners, they generated great sales growth in 2021 and want to maintain this momentum into the second half of 2022.
Tencel Luxe has appeared in collections by prominent designers such as Italian sustainability advocate Flavia La Rocca, multi-disciplinary artist Osman Yousefzada, and eco-couture company Peet Dullaert on several occasions.
Tencel Luxe fabric breakthroughs are in the works for this year's haute couture and bridal collections by Dutch cult design pair Viktor & Rolf, as well as new products from firms Anciela Bav Tailor, Deepika Govind, Safaa, and Taneira.
The fiber will also be used in exciting new collaborations with Patrick Mcdowell at the upcoming London Fashion Week 2022 and LVMH Prize nominee Róisn Pierce at the upcoming Paris Fashion Week 2022.
