The Lenzing Group, a global producer of special fibers made from wood, has teamed up with Kentaur, a company from Denmark known for making innovative and practical workwear. Together, they have created a test collection of chef uniforms focusing on being sustainable, long-lasting, and functional.
The goal is to lessen the need for brand new materials in making workwear, like chef uniforms, without compromising on their quality and comfort. These chef uniforms are made up of 50 percent TENCELâ„¢ branded lyocell fibers with REFIBRAâ„¢ technology and the other half is recycled polyester.
In this new test collection, 50 percent of the fabric is made from TENCEL Lyocell fibers with REFIBRA technology, and the rest is from recycled polyester. This combination makes the workwear very strong and comfortable, meeting the demands of those who wear it for work, all while promoting circularity and being eco-friendly.
TENCEL Lyocell fibers with REFIBRA technology are different from regular lyocell fibers. They are easily recognizable in the yarns, fabrics, and final garments. Lenzing's unique Fiber Identification technology allows for easy tracing of the fibers throughout the production process, promoting transparency and sustainability in the supply chain.
