The 2019 edition of the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) opened in the Taiwanese capital on October 7. This year’s edition is the twenty-third in the history of the event.

Organiser, the Taiwan Textile Federation, said at the opening ceremony that 423 exhibitors from 12 nations or regions would take part this time, including suppliers of equipment, alongside companies showing innovations in textiles. This makes the 2019 the largest TITAS ever.

Twenty trade organisations and associations representing the various segments in Taiwan’s textile industry attended, demonstrating the wide wide spectrum of suppliers and manufacturers that Taiwan has. Specialist yarn and fabric suppliers representing the local industry, including Formosa Plastic Group, Far Eastern New Century, Makalot Industrial, Tex-Ray Industrial, Eclat Enterprise, SingTex, Everlight Chemical and Tri-Ocean Textile, were among the exhibitors.

International vendors taking part in the event for the first time included HeiQ, Lycra and Cotton Council International. A team of buyers from the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) and a delegation from the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) also took part.

During the opening ceremony, the organisers highlighted four themes for TITAS 2019: functional applications, sustainability, smart textiles and intelligent manufacturing. A series of seminars and one-on-one business meetings supported these topics.
