Lamoda, part of Global Fashion Group (GFG) and the leading online fashion & lifestyle platform in Russia and the CIS, has expanded its Lamoda Planet edit to include consumers in all of its operational nations, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine.
In November 2020, the Lamoda Planet edit was launched in Russia. The firm creates apparel that is both convenient and high-quality.
The Lamoda Planet edit highlights eco-friendly, ethical, and charitable items that adhere to the ideals of sustainable development and responsible consumption. The project is the next step in GFG's aim to provide more sustainable fashion to clients in emerging countries, according to GFG. Lamoda is the first fashion e-commerce shop in the CIS to have such an edit.
Customers can now pick the filter ‘I help the planet' while purchasing on the site for a more seamless and convenient search for eco-friendly products. Lamoda consumers spent over one billion Russian Rubles on products from this area in the first half of 2021. On average, every tenth Lamoda customers buy anything from the Lamoda Planet collection, and every fifth Lamoda consumers buy something from the Lamoda Planet collection in Belarus.
The debut of the Lamoda Planet edit comes after GFG's People and Planet Positive Report, which defines the company's sustainability strategy and goals, was released earlier this year. This includes the debut of GFG's sustainable edits, which are now available in all of the company's operational locations.
Lamoda was the first fashion company in the region to conduct a carbon footprint study, the results of which were published in the GFG Climate Report in May 2021 as part of GFG's worldwide People & Planet Positive strategy. GFG achieved carbon neutrality throughout all of its activities, including the use of 100% green energy in all of its fulfillment centers and an increase in the number of parcels delivered with zero emissions for the last mile.
The Lamoda Planet edit has items from seven different categories. Products in the recycling and innovation category are made up of at least 50% recyclable, recycled, and innovative eco-friendly components. Clothing made of organic and natural textiles with ECOCERT, ICEA, BDIH, Nature, and other certificates fall into the eco-friendly category.
Products created with non-animal alternative materials or techniques linked with excellent animal welfare fall under the animal-friendly category. Vegetarian-friendly items are included in the vegan category. Products from responsible brands that have applied sustainable development concepts in their manufacturing by minimizing consumption of water, electricity, and their carbon footprint, are included in the Saving the Planet category.
The fashion without borders category includes underwear for women who have conquered breast cancer, or apparel with Braille designs. The I Want to Help category features items from reliable, charitable foundations that generate money by selling their reliable, charitable foundations on Lamoda.
