Kathmandu announces circular mapping project

Kathmandu, a New Zealand-based outdoor clothing company, has teamed up with The Renewal Workshop, a leading provider of circular technologies, to launch a circular mapping project in order to offer prospective renewal and re-commerce programs to its customers across Australia and New Zealand.

In addition, the company has encouraged other apparel companies in Australasia to join them in reducing textile waste. This collaboration is the first of its kind in the Australasia region to address textile waste.

Kathmandu’s CEO, Reuben Casey said that they’re ecstatic to be teaming up with The Renewal Workshop to do their part in minimizing textile waste, and to be the first of many companies in Australia and New Zealand to embrace circularity. This collaboration is an important first step toward their 2025 sustainability target of incorporating circular economy principles into their business operations.

The co-founder of The Renewal Workshop, Nicole Bassett, said that they can’t think of a better partner than Kathmandu to explore the promise of circular practices through their Circular Mapping process as a company that depends on collaborative and progressive brand partners as well as a deep mutual commitment to sustainability.
