Leading textile machinery manufacturer, KARL MAYER, has introduced the MT 84/1/40 S, a groundbreaking TEXTRONIC® lace machine for crafting intricate lace articles with a distinct and contrasting fabric appearance.
This newcomer in the lace sector showcases exceptionally light and transparent fabric grounds, allowing the delicate 3D flossing patterns to stand out prominently. According to KARL MAYER lace expert Jamie Heather, this innovation brings the quality of 12-point Leavers lace to a level never before achieved.
A key feature contributing to the advancement in lace quality is the unique configuration of the MT 84/1/40 S. It incorporates a stitch-forming jacquard bar along with two ground guide bars at the back, a distinctive setup for a TEXTRONIC® lace machine. The split execution of the stitch-forming jacquard bar enables the production of Spotnet grounds without a pillar stitch, facilitating lighter fabric grounds. KARL MAYER's tests have shown promising results, even when using thinner yarns in the warps to maintain fabric weight or incorporating a pillar stitch for added structural stability.
The MT 84/1/40 S is designed to create high-contrast lace with multi-layered patterns. The innovative use of a fall-plate in conjunction with 80 pattern bars, 24 more than previous lace machines with stitch-forming jacquard bars, enhances the contrasting patterning and refines the lightweight ground construction.
