The Canadian fashion label, manufacturer and retailer Kanati Co. is appointing Peter Phaboriboun as president and chief executive officer. Phaboriboun will replace co-founder Liam Massaubi who retired from the company earlier this year.
In a statement released to the IB Times, the company said under Phaboriboun’s management, Kanati Co. will focus on each of its divisions being able to function independently and focus on their separate and distinct identities.
Phaboriboun said, “Kanati Co. is one of those rare companies to have truly been a leader in manufacturing process and innovation, and I couldn’t be more honoured to have been chosen to lead the company.â€
In December of 2014, the company closed all of its overseasoperations to focus on a domestic manufacturing plan from Waterloo, Ontario in a joint partnership with GSG Apparel Distribution. The Kanati Co. label is now made in Canada and the company’s retail stores now carry only Canadian-made products.
Kanati Clothing Company was founded in 2009 and operates its own label in addition to providing manufacturing services for private retail labels. It also operates its own retail locations in Waterloo, Ontario.
