Ivanovo, destination of PET plant signs deal with ThyssenKrupp

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions signs up a deal to build a PET polymer and staple fibre production plant in Ivanovo, Russia which is supposed to have an annual production capacity of up to 200,000 tons of polyester polymer.

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solution’s role in the project will include engineering, procurement and supervision of the erection and commissioning of the plant.

The Germany-based multinational firm is working with the Russian company Polyester Plant Ivanovo which is involved in worldwide polyester staple production.

The new PET production plant will be the centerpiece of a production complex for synthetic fibres. Its construction is aimed at overcoming the dependence of the region’s textile enterprises on imported commodities.

Sami Pelkonen, CEO of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solution’s Electrolysis & Polymers Technologies business unit said that they have had a proven track record of providing their customers in Russia with leading poly-condensation technologies and equipment.

Commencing with the basic engineering, they have utilized their experience from numerous successfully realized orders in the country to create a solid foundation for this project.

Werner Steinauer, CEO of the engineering firm Uhde-Inventa Fischer, a subsidiary of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions that is heading up the project, says, “The key to success in this new project was not only our best-in-class technology, but also the ongoing intensive contact with our customer in order to identify their needs.”

Uhde-Inventa Fischer, headquartered in Berlin, has constructed more than 450 polymer plants worldwide, including several projects in Russia.
