Calzedonia, an Italian garment manufacturer plans to make investments in Ethiopia as it sees ample investment opportunities and huge potential for textile industry and other.
Calzedonia’s president Sandro Veronesi during his visit to Ethiopia held a meeting with the delegates of the manufacturer State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dawano Kedir which was fruitful as they have been able to identify the advantages and conditions prevailing in the country.
After holding talks with the State Minister Calzedonia’s president Sandro Veronesi, on his part said that this is his second time visit to Ethiopia.
They want to establish a factory for the production of night wear capable of employing some two to three thousand people.
The company is upbeat to start with the investment by next year. As of now they are assessing the appropriate location and suitable conditions for the establishment of the factory.
The company is also expected to open its first branch by next year in Tigray State, Mekele City.
