Italian fashion brand, Ferragamo, has debuted a sustainable unisex shoe, fusing ethical and cutting-edge materials to produce a "lightweight and comfortable model with a sumptuous vintage style, for its autumn/winter 2022 collection.
The shoe utilizes silky leather, suede, and fabric in addition to vibrant colors and a slender shape. Two of the variations feature the recognizable Ferragamo rainbow and an all-over Gancini motif.
The upper of the shoe is made of econyl fibers, which are entirely manufactured from nylon scraps like fishing nets. The production waste produced during a carbon-reduced production process was used to make all suede inserts. Leather that hasn't been tanned with chromium makes up the footbed and lining. The thread used to make the sneakers is entirely made from recycled polyester.
The sneakers cost between 595 and 650 euros and can be purchased on the Ferragamo website. They come in sizes ranging from 34.5 to 47. (US 4 to 13).
