Industrial Summit Technology (IST), a company based in Shiga, Japan, introduced Imidetex, an innovative polyimide fibre designed to enhance composite applications at JEC World 2025 in Paris. This advanced fibre works alongside glass and carbon fibres, improving their performance and enabling new applications in high-tech industries.

Imidetex boasts exceptional properties, including a high tensile strength, the ability to withstand continuous use at temperatures, and an ultra-low water absorption rate. When combined with carbon or glass fibres, Imidetex enhances vibration damping, impact resistance, and weight reduction, making it an ideal solution for industries that prioritize both strength and lightweight materials.

Imidetex is highly energy-efficient in production, generating only one-fifth of the CO2 emissions produced during carbon fibre manufacturing. Beyond its performance benefits, Imidetex’s natural amber hue adds a unique visual identity, allowing manufacturers to create aesthetic yet functional products without compromising strength or heat resistance.
