Turkish denim company, Isko has announced that it achieved the Bluesign-approved credentials for its circular material science innovation, Ctrl+Z made using only recycled and regenerated fibers that are entirely recyclable using the most recent recycling technology.

It is a certification that Bluesign only gives to bluesign® SYSTEM PARTNERS, such as manufacturers, who meet the stringent safety and environmental standards of the bluesign® CRITERIA, which include, among other things, making sure that production sites are safe for employees, reducing CO2 emissions and water consumption, and keeping hazardous materials out of the production process.

One of the most respected independent authorities in the world, this mark is one of the most difficult sustainability certificates to obtain. As a result, it highlights the degree of transparency of ISKO's products as well as the creative and sustainable production methodology that Ctrl+Z employs. In particular, Ctrl+Z is a material science that "undoes" post-industrial waste and produces fabrics created from recycled and regenerated materials that appear and feel identical to their former compositions with increased strength and durability.

Ebru Özküçük, ISKO’s Head of Sustainability, said that this is a significant accomplishment for ISKO because they have invested heavily from the start to make their production—and the industry as a whole—more accountable, transparent, and ultimately sustainable. They’re looking forward to this new relationship with Bluesign because it keeps lifting the bar of what is anticipated to improve the company.

Daniel Rüfenacht, CEO of Bluesign, added that the significance of creating recycled denim using ethical chemicals and techniques could not be overstated. This area of the industry has a history of having detrimental effects. Yet, ISKO's continuous emphasis on improving denim textile technologies while upholding Bluesign's high standards shows how collaborations may function holistically.
