Intexpo Bangladesh 2014, a two day Indian textile exhibition opens in Dhaka today Monday at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in the city. The exhibition has been jointly organised by the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) of India and Indian High Commission (IHC) in Bangladesh.
Mirza Azam, state minister textiles and jute is likely to open the exhibition.
In the programme 22 top Indian textile companies will showcase both machines and textile products. The products include suiting, shirting, dress making equipments, embroidered dresses, fine fashion fabrics, home textiles and other homemade products.
The SRTEPC India convener Sanjib Saran said that Bangladeshi visitors and business people through this exhibition would get an idea about Indian dresses made of quality fabrics and yarns.
The exhibition would be open to public from 10am to 7pm every day.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) are supporting the programme.
The SRTEPC India convener Sanjib Saran, executive director V Anil Kumar, IHC first secretary (commerce) Bijoy Selveraj, India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) president Mohammad Ali and other officials were present at the press conference held Sunday to mark the beginning of Indian textile exhibition.
