Indian International Fabric Expo (IIFE) 2014 a three day exhibition to be held in Ahmedabad to develop and promote the exports of Indian textile products. International buyers from the SAARC, ASEAN, African, European and American countries are expected to visit the trade show.

The event is hosted by Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) with support from the Union Ministry of Textile and under the Market Assistant Initiative Scheme of the Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

More than 150 Indian exhibitors would showcase their products including textile fabrics, denim, technical textiles, industrial fabrics, specialty fabrics, made-ups and home textiles. For powerloom entrepreneurs and exporters scouting for overseas buyers, this could be a golden opportunity.

The event will also have seminars on issues related to industry and theme pavilions such as the Gujarat Pavilion and the North-East Pavilion, would promote Brand India. It would also facilitate networking and meetings between buyers and exhibitors, direct interaction and provide opportunities to forge long-term business tie-ups. Apart from this fashion shows will be held for better display of designs and colour of fabric.

The organizers have chosen Ahmedabad to host this event as it has emerged as an important economic and industrial centre in India. It is the second-largest producer of cotton in India and has textile activities, “Fibre to fashion growing rapidly”. It’s manufacturing facilities including ginning, spinning, weaving, knitting, processing and garmenting.

PDEXCIL was set up by the Union Ministry of Textiles with the objective of development of the SME weaving sector, promotion and marketing of powerloom products such as cotton fabric, made-ups and home textiles in domestic as well as international markets. PDEXCIL has been organizing such international events in India and abroad successfully. The council acts as a link between buyers and exporters to facilitate mutually-beneficial ventures.

The event will be held from 14th to 16th October, 2014 at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
