Indian designer gives Ikat weaves an international allure

Rajesh Pratap Singh is a noted Indian fashion designer at the Evoluzion, India’s one of-a-kind design destination, offering the best of Indian labels in Fashion, launched his newest collection of hand woven clothes using the ikat weave technique giving it an international look.

The newest collection features black and white patterns of polka dots, rings, diamonds, squares, colour blocks, along with geometric motifs with a hint of red.

His signature style draws from his Indian roots and international silhouettes. Simple, yet focusing on detail is seen in the current collection that includes a mix and match of silhouettes using different weaves, classic dresses, cocoon jackets in lightweight silks as well as cotton. It also features satin trims, piping and stitch detailing.

Rajesh Pratap has received several awards for his designs and has had research-based collaborations with several Indian fabric mills. Moreover, his ajrak prints on linen as well as handloom weaves in Ikat are housed in the permanent textile and apparel collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Rajesh Pratap graduate from NIFT Delhi, has worked in the fashion industry in India and Italy for two years before introducing his own line of men and women’s clothing in 1997.
