India Carpet Expo has established itself as a sourcing platform for the buyers from all over the world. The 30th India Carpet Expo and the 11th in Varanasi (UP) will be taking place from October 11 to 14 at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University Ground, Varanasi where over 400 foreign buyers from countries including the US and South Africa are expected to participate in the four-day exhibition of carpet industry.

The eleventh edition of the exhibition being organised by Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) under the Ministry of Textiles will provide a ‘unique pick and choose’ business opportunity to all overseas carpet buyers.

The expo aims to promote the cultural heritage and weaving skills of Indian handmade carpets and other floor coverings amongst the visiting overseas carpet buyers. It is an ideal platform for international carpet buyers, buying houses, buying agents, architects and Indian carpet manufacturers and exporters to meet each other and establish long term business relationships.

CEPC Chairman Kuldeep R Wattal expresses his confident that the expo will generate good business. The Committee of Administration and the Office of CEPC is mobilising all resources to invite maximum number of overseas buyers.

The India Carpet Expo is one of the largest handmade carpet fairs in Asia, which provides a unique platform under one roof, for buyers to source the best handmade carpets, rugs and floor coverings. It has become a popular destination worldwide for handmade carpets.

India’s unique capability in adapting to any type of design, colour, quality and size as per the specifications of carpet buyers has made it a household name in the international market.

The Textile ministry has fixed participation charges at Rs 4,050 per sq meter plus service tax.

The carpet export promotion council will pay $750 to buyers from the US, Canada, Latin American countries and South Africa and $500 to buyers from all other countries towards air travel expenses.
