The International Cotton Association (ICA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Supima, the brand representing American-grown Pima cotton. This agreement was announced during the American Cotton Shippers Association (ACSA) Convention in Arizona, US, in June 2024.

The UK-based ICA, which already has MOUs with various organizations including Better Cotton, China Cotton Association, Aid by Trade Foundation's Cotton Made in Africa (CmiA), and The US Cotton Protocol Trust, aims to foster greater cooperation and address shared goals with Supima. ICA President Kim Hanna expressed that this partnership will enhance communication and collaboration, making trading safer.

Both Supima and the ICA have also indicated plans to work together on the blockchain platform TextileGenesis, highlighting their commitment to improving transparency and traceability in the cotton supply chain.
