The 36th World Fashion Convention of the International Apparel Federation is shaping up, with H&M's supply chain chief among the speakers. The 36th World Fashion Convention of the International Apparel Federation (IAF) will be held concurrently with the 9th European Confederation of Apparel and Textiles (Euratex) Convention in Antwerp, Belgium, on November 7-9.

Under the subject "Transition of the Global Fashion System," the IAF Convention will bring together senior apparel industry representatives from across the supply chain.

The H&M Group's head of supply chain, David Sävmann, will talk, as will industry analyst John Thorbeck, who will provide a business case demonstrating the strong relationship between business process transformation and enhanced sustainability.

A panel discussion will focus on how the fashion industry and fashion education can work together to accelerate changing and more sustainable business processes. Keynote presentations will include a global retailer's objectives for collaboration with its suppliers and an overview of global apparel business trends.

Digitalisation and how to alter the industry's dominant business model by decreasing waste and boosting value are other hot topics.

The 36th World Fashion Convention on November 8 will look at industry transformation through the lens of global supply chain collaboration, while the Euratex conference on November 9 will look at it from a legislative standpoint.
