Ahead of the virtual world premiere of IONIQ 5, the motor company Hyundai discloses the new images of the vehicle on 14th February. The revealed images show the spacious and versatile interior of the BEV model of IQNIQ 5.
The new model will utilize the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The flat battery present in the model will enable a spacious and customizable interior which means that to comfortably accommodate both the passengers and cargo the model will offer personalized mobility along with flexible configurations. The interior of the model is finished with eco-friendly materials and textiles. This represents the consumer’s rising interest in more ethical and sustainable products.
Head of Hyundai Global Design Center and Senior Vice President, SangYup Lee said that the optimistic design look offered by IONIQ 5 is what is expected by the customers of the new EV era. The log wheel provides a new dimension of space that can be utilized to recharge the vehicle.
When parked in a narrow space, the flat floor also helps the driver and passengers to freely enter and exit the cabin on either side. The front-seat passengers are provided with leg rest so that they can relax while the vehicle is being recharged. To help the children and pets seated in the rear, all the seats can be operated and repositioned.
The need for eco-conscious mobility solutions along with the lower environmental impact is solved with the 5’s use of eco-friendly and sustainably sourced materials. Eco-processed leather which is dyed and treated with flaxseed plant oil extractions is used to manufacture the seats. Textiles derived from sustainable fibers like sugar cane bio components, wool and poly yarns, recycled PET plastic bottles are used to manufacture the soft furnishings used in the cabin. Polyurethane bio paint containing oils from rape flowers and corn are used to coat the surfaces such as switches, dashboard, steering wheel, and door panels.
The virtual world premiere of IONIQ 5 will happen on February 23, 2021, which will showcase the details of IONIQ 5’s innovative features.
