Hyosung Group Chairman Cho Hyun-joon promotes sustainable management with its eco-friendly product regenĀ®.
In his New Year greeting for 2021, Chairman Cho Hyun-joon said that environmentally-friendly management is a requirement, not a choice. Sustainable management is an economic, social, and environmental responsibility that a firm should perform to meet the requirements and expectations of a variety of stakeholders.
Hyosung TNC created āMIPAN regen (regenĀ®)' based on its patented fiber technology and holds the biggest share of the worldwide textile industry with its spandex brand ācreoraĀ®'. RegenĀ® is a regenerated nylon yarn manufactured from pre-consumer trash such as discarded clear PET bottles. It's an environmentally friendly product that's been certified by CONTROL UNION's Global Recycle Standard and has excellent dyeing uniformity.
Following the completion of the āregenĀ® jeju' project, which produces 100% recycled polyester from discarded transparent PET bottles from Jeju island with the Jeju Provincial government last year, Hyosung TNC launched the āregenĀ® seoul' campaign with the Seoul Metropolitan government early this year, a resource virtuous recycling project that produces recycled polyester by separately collecting discarded transparent PET bottles from Seoul.
RegenĀ® is now available in a variety of forms, including masks, T-shirts, and bags, thanks to collaborations with renowned fashion and clothing designers. Hyosung TNC is evolving into an environmentally friendly firm by increasing consumer engagement with goods and responding to customer input.
In collaboration with the Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, the firm has introduced a new trend in the eco-friendly fashion industry by recycling PET bottles abandoned by entry/departure boats into 'MIPANĀ® regenĀ® ocean,' a polyester recovered from clear PET bottles.
Mike Simko, Hyosung Global Marketing Director-Textiles, said that there has been a strong push for recycled items in the United States and Europe in particular. The whole debate about sustainability originated with companies wanting something sustainable, and back then the easiest thing to do was to incorporate recycled goods into their lines. Their discussions about sustainability are maturing now. People are becoming more attentive as a result of their organizations adopting high environmental goals and making them public.
