HURR becomes first rental to achieve B Corp Certification

HURR, the leading UK-based fashion rental platform, has announced that it is now a certified B Corporation, making it the first rental business to get the designation.

According to the B Corp website, a B Corp accreditation signifies that a company is “achieving rigorous requirements of proven performance, accountability, and openness on variables ranging from employee perks and charity giving to supply chain procedures and input materials.” The accreditation does not focus on a single social or environmental concern, but rather on a comprehensive approach to a company’s business strategy, operation, and internal structure. Companies that acquire the designation must also reapply every three years.

The award recognizes HURR for a number of sustainable initiatives inside the company, including its unique cooperation with wet-cleaning service Oxwash, which seeks to achieve net zero carbon emissions throughout the washing process. This year, the rental company also introduced its own reusable packaging for delivery and returns, with each bag capable of being used around 30 times before being discarded. Finally, HURR collaborates with the carbon management platform CoGo to generate the statistics for each rental, providing complete transparency into how much is saved.

HURR’s founder Victoria Prew, said that they’ve dreamed of earning B Corp designation since its beginning and have worked hard to guarantee HURR satisfies the standards. They’re committed to changing the future of fashion and are delighted to collaborate with other businesses to make it a reality.

HURR joins over 5,000 other worldwide firms that have received B Corp certification, including Wolf & Badger, Patagonia, and Aesop.
