Huntsman Textile Effects that creates markets and manufactures a broad range of chemical and dye products to enhance the performance properties and colors of finished textiles and materials has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Daechun, a textile exporter to oversees efficiency management, streamline operations and sustainability improvement at its textile mill in the Gyunggi Province, South Korea.

Huntsman, whose latest ‘eCool70’ range of dyes is said to use less water and energy in processing, has so far integrated its ‘Novacron’ reactive inks for printing and its ‘Clarite One’ pre-treatment for peroxide bleaching into Daechun’s manufacturing processes. This, according to the company, will promote a cleaner supply chain and best practice.

Jay Naidu, vice president of strategic marketing and planning at Huntsman, said that companies like Daechun are leading the way in Korea and showing a commitment by investing in sustainability and continuous improvement.

The partnership will also see Huntsman offer suggestions to improve profitability and productivity through regular audits at the production factory.
