German fashion group Hugo Boss, has declared that it has formally committed to safeguarding the health and safety of its textile employees by joining the Pakistan Accord.
The Bangladesh 2021 International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry, which Hugo Boss and 190 other companies and unions joined, served as the foundation for the Pakistan Accord when it was originally proposed late last year.
The Bangladesh Accord on Fire and Building Safety was also developed as a result of the Rana Plaza catastrophe in 2013, which prompted the initial establishment of the effort.
The Pakistan Accord, on the other hand, addresses a number of workplace issues, such as the dedication to impartial inspections, corrective measures, and employee training programs.
Hugo Boss added that it would collaborate with other signatories to raise money to assist the agreement’s implementation and to respect its rules across the industry.
Hugo Boss’ CFO and COO, Yves Müller, stated in a statement: “At Hugo Boss, we take the fair and ethical treatment of our employees, suppliers, and partners worldwide very seriously and look forward to supporting the improvement of labor conditions in Pakistan through the implementation of the Pakistan Accord. “We take the fair and ethical treatment of our employees, suppliers, and partners worldwide very seriously.
