How Vidya achieves the next level of 3D simulation at Munich Fabric Start

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2018-09-24 15:59:00 – Munich

Vidya is becoming more and more realistic -3D is a key technology in the apparel industry to drive the digitization of companies. And digital products can be integrated into advance process steps. At the Munich Fabric Start, Assyst is going to demonstrate how the 3D simulation software Vidya can be used for the development of a fashion collection and beyond. Dr. Andreas Seidl, Managing Partner of the Human Solutions Group said that, "Together with our partners in the Digital Textile Connection, we are showing how 3D is getting closer and closer to reality through perfect color and material presentations," Also, "The more realistic the simulations become, the more possibilities arise for the use of 3D data, beyond product development, for example for sales and marketing. We show what 3D can already do with Vidya today and where the journey is heading."

Vidya gets the fabrics from the cloud - For this purpose, a cloud-based solution was developed that provides digitized materials with a high degree of authenticity. These can be easily and quickly integrated into the 3D design process with Vidya by "drag and drop", ie by clicking and dragging. All parameters of the fabric, such as the degree of stiffness, are taken into account so that the fabric can be realistically processed and evaluated on the screen.

More and more garments are designed digitally with 3D software. A realistic representation of color and materials makes it possible to remarkably reduce the number of physical patterns - saving time and reducing costs. Together with its partner companies Color Digital, Epson, X-Rite Pantone and Peter Buedel Accessoires, Assyst will show how Vidya achieves the next level of 3D simulation by integrating digitized materials, at the Munich Fabric Start.

Uniform color values from 3D design to the finished product, realistic material properties right from the start - several experts have teamed up to develop a guarantee of authenticity for digitized materials. Under the name Digital Textile Connection, Assyst, Color Digital, Epson, X-Rite Pantone and Peter Buedel Accessoires want to show for the first time at the Munich Fabric Start, which synergies arise through their cooperation for the clothing industry and how they can bring simulations in 3D to the next level of realistic representation.
