Hong Kong-based Crystal Group wins another WWF-HK’s LCMP Platinum label

The Hong Kong-based Crystal Group has been working tirelessly to accelerate climate action. In addition to its ongoing efforts to combat climate change, the intimate plant in Vietnam applied for the first time to WWF-Low HK’s Carbon Manufacturing Programme (LCMP) and was given Platinum Label, making the prize even more noteworthy.

Crystal’s small plant in China was given Platinum Label and renewed LCMP, demonstrating the company’s long-term commitment to low-carbon manufacturing. The Platinum Label is WWF’s LCMP’s highest honor, recognizing a factory’s excellent sustainability achievements and considerable gains in implementing low-carbon production methods.

Crystal group said in a press release that this is the factory’s third Platinum Label since 2012, demonstrating the factory’s long-term commitment to carbon reduction.

Environmental resiliency is a priority for the Crystal Group. The firm will scale up the setting up of a decarbonization pathway to achieve long-term climate ambition by completing a study of carbon reduction roadmap.

Crystal’s corporate quality and sustainability department’s general manager, Catherine Chiu, said that they’ve been increasing their commitment to climate action, and they’re now concentrating on a long-term carbon reduction objective of 30% aggregate greenhouse gas emissions reductions by 2030. As a major manufacturer, they aim to set an example for the rest of the industry by demonstrating a viable model for reducing carbon and conserving energy.
