HomTex Inc. plans to continue expansion of its total production capacity

Alabama-based HomTex Inc. plans to continue with its expansion of its total production capacity with the leasing of a 24,000 square-foot plant in Waynesboro, Tenn., following the company’s late May announcement of a 300,000-square-feet facilities acquisition in its home state.

Located in Waynesboro’s industrial park on U.S. 64, former occupants Tennessee Apparel company used the space as a cut and sew facility until late 2013, which allows the new tenant and home textiles manufacturing innovator to begin production here with minimal retrofitting required.

HomTex manufacturers and markets several brands of bed linens, sleeping pillows, mattress pads, duvets and other top-of-bed products boasting innovative features and 15 patents pending. Products are sold through specialty sleep retailers and the mass retail segment. Registered brand names include DreamFit®, Suprelle®, Dream Essence by FitRite®, Revive®.

The Waynesboro facility is dedicated to manufacturing DreamFit sheeting products.

Waynesboro presents a strategic opportunity for HomTex due to its strong labor pool, said Jeremy Wootten, president. The total number of jobs in the facility may double in a second wave of hiring. The trained workforce allows them to scale quickly and respond to their growing production needs.

HomTex additionally owns production and distribution facilities in North and South Carolina, and maintains offices in China and India. With the new leasing agreement, the manufacturer retains an option to purchase the Tennessee facility. Its trade showrooms are located in New York and Las Vegas.

Over the last 25 years, HomTex has grown exponentially to become a leading innovator and a tough competitor in the global textiles industry – manufacturing and distributing HomTex and private-branded products through the home textiles, hospitality, apparel and automotive industries.
