Home Textiles Sourcing Expo July 2014 witnessed strongest participation this time

Home Textiles Sourcing Expo 2014, fifth edition that was held at the Javits Convention Center in New York City marked its highest attendance rate to date with 5,895 verified visitors from 22 countries. There was a rise of 11 percent in attendance rate over last year.

This year’s strong participation confirms the predictions of industry experts regarding a moderate rebound in the U.S. home textile market to be realized over the next few years, stated Dennis Smith, President, Messe Frankfurt North America. Our diverse participation from many sourcing countries confirmed the demand for home fabrics and soft goods that can be sourced at the only home textile sourcing show on the East Coast.

The show featured 135 exhibitors from 8 countries around the world showcasing fabrics and finished soft goods for the home. Once again, Home Textiles Sourcing Expo was co-located with Texworld USA and the International Apparel Sourcing Show featuring 759 exhibitors providing buyers access to the full spectrum of sourcing options for apparel fabrics, garment manufacturing and finished soft goods for the home.

This show is organized by Messe Frankfurt in partnership with the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT-TEX). Lin Yungfeng, Vice Chaiman of CCPIT TEX stated that they were happy to see that Home Textiles Sourcing Expo has established itself as a vital sourcing venue for the American home textiles market. With the continued improvement of the U.S. economy and housing market, they are confident that the Home Textiles Sourcing Expo will continue to grow and become the resource of choice for home textiles buyers.

The complimentary seminar series featuring a wide range of topics achieved its highest attendance to date. This year’s series featured 19 seminars over the 3 day event, attended by 1,685 total participants of which 912 were unique. The July 2014 series benefited from a 17% increase in total participants in comparison to July 2013. The sessions included a diverse offering of topics including: color trends for home, innovations in bedding and sustainable textiles.

The Home Textiles Sourcing Expo will once again co-located with Texworld USA, the largest apparel fabrics show in North America, and the International Apparel Sourcing Show. All three shows will be held July 21-23, 2015 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
