H&M, LanzaTech to launch collection made of captured carbon emissions

H&M Move partners with the breakthrough material science company LanzaTech, to launch a capsule collection using captured carbon emissions.

H&M Move is on a mission to democratise movewear and get everyone active. Moving the needle through innovation is a component of the brand formula, along with encouraging people to exercise and removing barriers to sports.

LanzaTech and H&M Move is taking a step forward in its innovation process by utilizing DryMove™ technology — a trademarked material that pulls away moisture from the skin and keeps Movers comfortable and dry while moving.

Simon Brown, General Manager at H&M Move, said that they are excited to offer their clients a capsule collection produced of CarbonSmart™ polyester, a revolutionary material made from recycled carbon emissions, in partnership with LanzaTech. This collaboration enables H&M Move to investigate cutting-edge materials and to contribute to the future development of more environmentally friendly sportswear.

Jennifer Holmgren CEO of LanzaTech, said that today’s textile industry advances center on sustainability for a better society. They are proud to partner with H&M Move on ths drop, which reflects ways to rethink how they make and how they experience their clothing.

LanzaTech uses three easy procedures to collect carbon emissions from steel mills, confine them in bioreactors, and transform them into the same building blocks that are used to make conventional polyester. This ground-breaking approach lowers the consumption of virgin fossil resources needed to produce new products while also reducing pollution.

The three-piece set for ladies arriving soon from H&M Move consists of a jumpsuit, a blouse, and a pair of tights that are partially made of LanzaTech CarbonSmart™ polyester with a DryMove™ finish. The modern athluxury trend is referenced in the sleek, all-black clothing’s contrast seams and inventive cut-outs.
