Harvey Nichols launches kidswear resale initiative with Kids O’Clock

Harvey Nichols is now offering a resale drop-off station for pre-loved children’s apparel, after introducing a childrenswear department at the beginning of the summer.

The British company has partnered with Kids o’Clock, a secondhand childrenswear marketplace, to launch the new service, which will reward Harvey Nichols customers with coupons worth £20 for returning items. The products will subsequently be gathered and resold on the Kids o’Clock website around the world.

Laura Larbalestier, Fashion Director at Harvey Nichols, said that the new venture provides clients with a sustainable alternative for pre-loved children’s clothes that complete the fashion loop. Not only does it extend the life of items that are all-too-quickly grown out of, but it also donates a portion of the proceeds to charity, and anyone giving a bag of clothes will receive a kidswear voucher to use in-store.

Laura Roso Vidrequin, Founder of Kids O’Clock said that they’re happy to announce their first in-store partnership with a major luxury retailer like Harvey Nichols. The concept allows anyone to become a pre-loved donor or buyer in a very natural and straightforward manner. Donating pre-loved things greatly extends the life of children’s apparel and provides a dynamic method for customers to do their part for the environment while maintaining the positive connotation associated with purchasing new products when shopping.

Vidrequin added that they want more people to understand that they can purchase less, buy better, donate, and buy pre-loved products all as part of the same cycle, and they believe that this cooperation will help to promote awareness about resale items, allowing more people to join the revolution.

Harvey Nichols revealed its first re-commerce service a month ago, after partnering with resale startup Reflaunt.
