GTT x Golden Long John
Green Theme Technologies (GTT), based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has partnered with Golden Long John, a Taiwanese supplier for global footwear brands, to advance cleaner and more efficient fabric dyeing and finishing methods.
Last year, Golden Long John integrated GTT’s Empel waterless and PFAS-free finishing technology into its factories in Vietnam. This collaboration has now evolved to include a new direct dyeing process. \In November, GTT secured $6 million in Series C funding from investors, including Pangaea Ventures and Cottonwood Technology Ventures, to further support its innovations in sustainable textile manufacturing.
“Like GTT’s Empel, Golden Long John’s direct dye application delivers superior performance with significantly reduced pollution,” said Martin Flora, president of GTT Business Development. “This approach addresses the textile industry’s major issue of generating trillions of gallons of wastewater annually. Traditional methods involve rinsing chemical dyes and water repellents onto fabrics, leading to toxic wastewater discharge into rivers and oceans. Together, we’re making strides toward sustainability while maintaining growth with brands like Nike that seek high performance and eco-friendly solutions.”
