Green paper packaging technology launched by J&J Green Paper

J&J Green Paper, an innovative paper products technology firm based in Miami, is consciously putting in efforts to reduce the utilisation of single-use plastics particularly in the coffee brewing pods popularized by Keurig. According to the recent statistic published by the Atlantic, if the number of k-cups that ended up in the landfills in 2014 are placed end-to-end it would be sufficient to circle the globe 10.5 times.

The company has invested over eight years to develop a cutting-edge solution to the critical issue of paper waste. More than half of them are produced for packaging, is now looking forward to the future. J&J have launched their latest technology JANUS, a patent-pending green paper technology that uses environmentally safe components to treat paper and packaging to eliminate chemical byproducts while ensuring moisture resistance.

The innovative alternative packaging company have understood that the continent paper packaging company wasn’t going to go anywhere. This led to the company working hard to find alternative solutions that are green and user-friendly. The innovation can be used for k-cups, paper and aseptic packaging, food prep paper, wine and soda bottles and milk and ice cream cartons.

Raul Sanchez-Elia, president of J&J Green Paper, stated that A green solution that enables paper to take on many of the best characteristics of plastic while being biodegradable, recyclable, and backyard compostable was the holy grail of sustainability.

This August, J&J Green Paper licensed its proprietary formula to CST Green Resources Limited (CST) of Hong Kong in a deal with undisclosed terms. CST is expected to manufacture green paper products using J&J’s technology in facilities in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. They are most likely to extend this to Southeast Asia in the near future.

The CST deal is the first step in J&J’s strategy to make its cost-effective and environmentally responsible technology available worldwide.
