Green Fiber converts over 2 billion PET bottles per year

Green Fiber, part of the Green Group family, has announced that it is now converting more than 2 billion polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles each year into renewable polyester staple fiber items for a variety of industries, staying true to its slogan of “what lived once, will live again.”

Green Fiber, in collaboration with its sister company Green Tech, a PET recycler in Europe, completes the loop by converting organic fibers recycled from PET bottles into polyester staple fibers that reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 50% as opposed to virgin fiber content alternatives.

Green Fiber’s 100% recycled goods have never been more relevant, as they now give a diverse range of sectors, such as hygiene and healthcare, automotive, engineering and construction, and home textiles, the ability to confidently say they are strongly committed to reducing their carbon footprint and fostering a more sustainable picture.

The general manager of Green Fiber, Alina Elena Genes, said they are proud to recycle over 2 billion PET bottles each year as part of their regenerative position as both a manufacturer and a recycler, which are then converted into recycled fabrics for a variety of industries.

Furthermore, as Europe’s largest manufacturer of 100% PET recycled fibers, with a variety of goods emitting 50% less CO2 than virgin fiber substitutes, they think it is now mandatory for sustainable companies to use their fibers if they are serious about lowering their carbon footprints.
