Italy-based sneaker brand Golden Goose, has announced unveiled 10 “clear-cut goals” to achieve by 2025 as part of its new Forward Agenda sustainability plan, which is centered on four pillars: innovation, craft, caring for people and products, and engaging with communities.
According to Golden Goose, the Forward Agenda is about taking a long-term responsible journey forward by becoming carbon neutral, employing responsible materials and tracking raw materials, and consistently enhancing social and environmental standards throughout its supply chain.
The new strategy also places a major emphasis on community, with awareness-raising efforts aimed at fostering and enhancing diversity while also encouraging an inclusive culture and strengthening local communities.
Golden Goose will also launch a series of projects in 2022 and 2023 centered on its four pillars to “show the company’s community culture” and how it will drive its key endeavors.
In April, the company announced a merger with a prominent Italian research and development provider as part of its innovate pillar, which aims to strengthen the company’s dedication to sustainability, scalable solutions, and ideas that can be shared with other businesses. This partnership will also result in the creation of a new Golden Goose sneaker, which will be made using cutting-edge technologies and bio-based materials.
Golden Goose will open Fondamenta, its first craftsmanship academy, in 2023, with a focus on workmanship. This academy will teach young artisans about the brand’s handmade legacy and people-centric mentality, as well as serve as a creative hub and a professional shoemaking school.
The brand will open Forward locations in Milan and New York between spring and autumn 2022 for its care pillar. Local and artisanal shoemakers will share their knowledge and expertise to repair and personalize any goods at these creative retail concept stores, which will emphasize how to extend a product’s life cycle.
The final project will focus on community, with the launch of Golden TV, a community-driven social media platform that will broadcast stories from the G Generation, a group of Golden Goose employees under 30 who are brand enthusiasts.
