In a major boost for global sustainability and footwear performance, Gold Long John, a leading supplier of fabric to global footwear brands, is implementing the EMPEL Nø-Wick waterless and PFAS-free finishing platform in their Vietnam mill supply chain.
The EMPEL Nø-Wick product is notable for its superior ability to prevent wicking, surpassing other chemicals, while being completely water-free and PFAS-free. Gold Long John’s adoption of this technology is crucial in producing sustainable and high-performing footwear for leading brands worldwide.
“Our Oeko Tex-certified EMPEL® platform is a solution for the future,” said Martin Flora, President of Global Business Development at GTT. “It offers the highest performing finishes without using water or PFAS chemicals. Gold Long John was our first major footwear mill adopter in Asia, and their support has been vital in making EMPEL® Nø-Wick™ commercially viable for major footwear brands. Thanks to their contribution, we can now expand our clean chemistry throughout Southeast Asia, significantly reducing water, carbon, and chemical pollution while delivering top-tier performance.”
“Green Theme and their EMPEL® products will help us remain at the forefront of global sustainability solutions, allowing us to provide our footwear brands with highly innovative, cleaner, and better-performing materials,” said Kevin Wen, President of Gold Long John. “This is a win for us, our partner brands, and global environmental sustainability efforts.”
