Global Merino, a specialist in technical textile development that internationally sources the finest of merino wools and uses contract spinners and weavers to make designed woollen fabrics for outdoor companies like Patagonia will partake at the upcoming ISPO trade fair for sportswear and outdoor industry to be held in Germany this month.
Recognised by ISPO Textrends as the winner in the base layer category and in the top 10 for second layer, Global Merino focuses on a solutions oriented approach to fabric development to deliver against the performance requirements for their customers. Global Merino will present its latest collection of technical textiles at ISPO.
Jose Fernandez, CEO of Global Merino said that they are going to promote their triple plaited construction using a combination of merino wool, polyester and creora eco-soft to give consumers the best of warmth, comfort, fit, and movement targeting the cycling enthusiast.
They are also focused on their new mini terry for second layer warmth without weight plus freedom of movement for a multitude of applications such as running, skiing, hiking, etc. They are using creora eco-soft low heat set elastane to maintain the softness of the merino wool in fabric while delivering stretch and recovery for enhanced comfort and fit.
Global Merino’s process of getting fine merino wool from farm to store starts on a farm in New Zealand, Australia, or South Africa with a wool auction to wholesale agents and distributors. Global Merino then ensures the shipment of the wool to one of its contract spinning and/or weaving facilities where it is turned into fabric.
