Give Back Box collaborates with ZigZag to send returns to charity

Give Back Box, an organization that enables retailers to send returning items to charity, has collaborated with Give Back Box, an initiative that streamlines product donations, to boost the quantity of clothes given to charity and promote the circular economy.

The option to donate to Give Back Box will be available on store websites that use the ZigZag plug-in, which purportedly allows for product refunds in as little as 24 hours. This option will be accessible to shops that satisfy the requirements for allowing charitable donations, and it will result in the items being returned straight to the charity.

According to WRAP, around 9 million tonnes of clothes are disposed of in US landfills each year, whereas 330,000 tonnes are disposed of in UK landfills.

ZigZag Global’s co-founder and CEO, Al Gerrie, said they’re continuously looking for ways to improve their corporate and social responsibility and sustainability services as a founding member of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Give Back Box will allow ZigZag merchants to swiftly and easily help local communities and charities, with the added benefit of reusing all outbound packaging for charity returns.

Consumers are gradually adjusting their priorities and seeking more sustainable choices when buying and returning products online as concerns about the environmental effect of returns and social justice grow. From 2019 to 2021, the resale market is anticipated to expand by 69 percent.

CEO and creator of Give Back Box, Monika Wiela, said the cooperation will make it even simpler for clients to make charitable gifts and will no doubt supply their partnering organizations with high-quality and highly sought-after clothing.
