GATS, Green Story to promote Panipat’s sustainable textile efforts

The Global Alliance for Textiles Sustainability Council (GATS), a non-profit organization, has partnered with Green Story to measure and communicate the carbon footprint of the Panipat Textiles Cluster.

This collaboration aims to strengthen Panipat’s role as a leader in sustainable textile production. Together, they will use a structured method to calculate the cluster’s carbon emissions, providing transparent data on its environmental impact and commitment to sustainable practices.

Green Story is a platform that specializes in environmental impact assessments, including lifecycle analysis and carbon footprint measurement. It also offers digital tools to support sustainability initiatives. The platform is an authorized verifier for the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM), a tool that helps textile facilities measure and improve their environmental performance each year.

With Green Story’s expertise in sustainability metrics, this partnership will provide brands, financial institutions, and regulators with valuable data to drive meaningful improvements in the textile supply chain.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between GATS and Green Story is expected to highlight both business and environmental benefits on a global level, showcasing Panipat’s success in textile recycling, circular processes, and carbon footprint reduction.
