Gap Inc. and Ambercycle have announced a partnership to integrate textile-to-textile recycled materials into Athleta products. Ambercycle’s Cycora® regenerated polyester, a high-performance material derived from end-of-life textiles, will replace conventional polyester in Athleta’s offerings. Beginning in 2026, Athleta, a Certified B Corporation, aims to become the first performance apparel brand to adopt cycora on a large scale.
Chris Blakeslee, CEO of Athleta, emphasized the brand’s commitment to sustainability and quality, stating that the adoption of Cycora aligns with Athleta’s mission and values. Athleta’s versatile apparel range, designed by women for women, prioritizes inclusivity and integrates performance and technical features across various lifestyle activities.
