Gamarra Produce, the fifth edition of the competition organized annually by the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE), Peru which awards the country’s most innovative clothing designs, this time will have 400 companies presenting their first article of clothing to be evaluated by the jury, composed of recognized national designers from around the country.
More than a thousand small textiles firms will sign up to participate in the contest, which seeks to recognize talent and business innovation of the countries small and medium textile designers, said PRODUCE’s Director, Mauricio Moscoso.
The official said that designers will be judged by their creativity and originality in order to determine the most innovative design. There will be a technical aspect as well, as students of the National Engineering School well be present to judge the quality and technic used in each piece.
Participants that don’t qualify will participate in a training workshop, to help them strengthen their skills and encourage them to participate next year.
The contest will be held in the commercial emporium of Gamarra.
